I am Alan Doering. I was born in Philadelphia, PA at Hahnemann Hospital and raised in the nearby suburb of Bryn Athyn.
My father was was an old fashioned (Homeopathic) family doctor and my mother was a nurse.
I grew up surrounded by beautiful countryside. the magnificent architecture of the Bryn Athyn Cathedral,
the Glencairn estate, great music from the Philadelphia Orchestra, and fine art at the Philadelphia Art Museum, Mercer Museum and others.
This background led me to study architecture in college and to begin my career as an architect. However, in 1963 the direction of my
career changed and I became a computer scientist.
After working for more than 50 years at the "frontier" of computer technlogy, I am now retired and living in Holland, PA
with my wife Debbi. Together we have six children, 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Wow! That's quite a family.
I am now free to pursue my love of art, architecture and photography. I love to work with my clients and models making
beautiful photographic images. I try to be creative and make every photograph look as good as possible.
Photography complements the technical side of my personality. It gives me an outlet for my artistic self-expression.
It allows me to capture moments in time and document my experiences as I navigates the pathways of adventure and discovery.
Sometimes, my camera can bring the events of my life into sharper focus. Photographs are a catalyst for my imagination and a
vehicle for releasing my inner spirit.
I invite you to join me on my journey and view some of my work on this website. Hopefully, you will enjoy what you find here.
And if you do, whenever you have a need for some photographs you will choose me to be your photographer.
Thank you for visiting my website.
